Notes from October

September Came & Went

September came and went a little differently for me this year. I didn’t get my blog out, and honestly, I didn’t have a lot of words for the month. There was a lot going on in my mind, even though from the outside it probably didn’t look like much was happening.

September was also filled with some really special moments for our family.

My daughter became homecoming queen, and our story ended up being shared on the news when they came to our home to interview her. Seeing her have that moment was something I will always remember. Knowing that so many people supported her, shared her story, and celebrated with our family made it even more special.

As October comes around, I find myself thinking about how much I love this time of year.

I love the colors of fall. I love watching the trees change from green into all the different shades of yellow, orange, and red. I can look at them and think about how amazing it is that we get to see this happen every year.

Something that starts out green and full of life eventually changes into something completely different, but still beautiful. Then the leaves fall, the trees become bare, and everything looks different again.

For some reason, watching that makes me think about people and the different seasons of our lives.

We grow, we change, we make memories, and we experience beautiful things, difficult things, and everything in between. There are seasons when life feels full and busy, and there are seasons when things look completely different than they did before.

But there is something beautiful about knowing that change is a natural part of life.

This year has given our family many different moments. Some have brought a lot of joy, and some have been harder than others. I don’t want to spend every blog talking about the hard parts, but I also don’t want to pretend they aren’t part of our story.

There has also been so much life happening around us.

My family. The people who support us. The memories we have made. The moments we get to experience together.

And even the little things, like looking out the window and seeing the trees change.

September may not have given me a blog, but it gave me a lot to think about.

And now October is here, with all its colors, cooler days, family moments, and another season unfolding right in front of us.

I’m looking forward to enjoying it and seeing what this season brings.

Once again, thank you for supporting my book journey. I pray you and your family have a wonderful October and enjoy this beautiful season.

To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.
